The Rutgers SPAA MPA program, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), is an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional program of professional training. It is geared for those working in or preparing for careers in the public and non-profit sectors, or the intersection of the public and private sectors. The MPA program provides students with basic competencies in the context of a broad understanding of the field. Recent MPA graduates have found placements as: Chief Administrative Officer for the Tax Court of New Jersey, Township Manager for New Jersey Municipalities, Police Chief of Newark and Senior Legislative Analyst for the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
